Here at Furleigh Estate we are always happy to talk about our wines and give you a taste of whatever is open if you come to our Cellar Door shop. However if you want to see and learn more, then one of our Vineyard Tours and Tastings is for you.
In the vineyard you will hear how we look after the vines throughout the year, what pests and diseases we have to contend with and what happens at harvest time. After this, in the winery, our guide will explain the wine-making process. Here we make some of the country's best red, white and pink still and sparkling wines. Please note that access to the winery may be restricted at times during the harvest for safety reasons.
Under the tutelage of our guide, the tour finishes with a tasting of a selection of our still and sparkling wines. Questions are welcomed at any time throughout the tour.
Our Classic Tours run at 2.30pm on most Fridays and Saturdays (and Wednesdays from June to the end of September), last around 90 minutes and cost £12.50 per person. Booking is advisable, particularly during the summer months and as we get close to harvest. You can book directly on our Vineyard Tours page. If you do not wish to book directly, you can buy a Vineyard Tour Voucher, which also makes a great present
Every Friday and Saturday morning (and Wednesday mornings during the summer) we offer a Grand Tour of Furleigh Estate's vineyard and winery. This starts with a glass of Furleigh Estate sparkling wine on arrival. You will then be escorted by Rebecca Hansford, the owner of Furleigh Estate, or Nick Beecheno, our experienced tour guide, on a tour of the vineyard and winery. Along the way you will hear how the vineyard came into being over 10 years ago and the mostly highs but some lows that have occurred since then. The tour finishes back in the tasting room with a tutored tasting of at least four of the Furleigh Estate award winning still and sparkling wines. Tours start at 11am, unless otherwise stated, last around 2 hours and cost £25 per person. You can book directly on our Vinyard Tours page. If you do not wish to book directly, you can buy a Grand Tour Voucher, which also makes a memorable gift.
