A superbly aromatic off-dry white wine with abundant fruit. It is bright and pale lemon straw with thick legs. The nose is delicately scented with hedgerow flowers of nettle, meadowsweet and lime-blossom alongside gooseberry and kiwifruit with herbaceous notes of kaffir-lime leaves. Tropical fruits explode on the palate including pineapple, mango and papaya with passionfruit and a touch of lemongrass on the finish. It has a juicy mouthfeel with balanced acidity and packs quite a fruity punch.
Excellent served chilled with oriental dishes such as Japanese sushi with wasabi and pickled ginger, aromatic Asian fish curry or Thai-infused mussels. Enjoy it with steamed fish such as sea bass or sea bream with chilli, ginger and lime. Also good with roasted Mediterranean vegetables, mixed peppers and stuffed vine-leaves.
Made in a similar way to Bacchus Dry, but using the pressed juice with the strongest varietal character. Following fermentation the wine was matured in American oak barriques for 7 months to provide richness and vanilla flavours.
86% Bacchus, 14% Chardonnay
