Furleigh Wine & Chocolate Tasting with Amuse Chocolate

Thursday 13th April, 7pm until 9pm

In the spirit of Easter and all things chocolatey we are holding a wine and chocolate tasting on Thursday 13th April, and will show you how chocolate really can taste good with wine! Chocolatier Amanda Smith from Amuse Chocolate in Symondsbury will demonstrate the art of chocolate pairing with Furleigh wines. Be prepared to try some memorable chocolate taste experiences such as rose & geranium, baked apple & pine nut and strawberry & black pepper. Amanda’s chocolates are made in Symondsbury and use as many locally produced ingredients as possible. The evening will feature 5 Furleigh wines to try (2 sparkling and 3 still), paired with chococlate that complements the wine and challenges our taste experience . Amanda will guide you through flavour combinations, taste sensations and talk about why we love chocolate so much!

Furleigh Estate World Cruise
Friday 26th May, 7pm until 9pm

Join us on our imaginary cruise liner as we tour the world comparing and contrasting Furleigh Estate wines with wines of the world.  Expect taste comparisons like:

·         Bacchus Fumé and Australian Sauvignon Semillon

·         Sea Pink and Spanish Granacha rosé

·         Tyrannosaurus Red and Burgundian  Pinot Noir

·         White Pinot Noir and a New Zealand White Pinot

·         Classic Cuvée and Californian fizz

Mark Banham, wine educator and owner of Dorchester wine merchant Morrish and Banham, will bring the world to Furleigh.   The same or similar grape varieties grown across the globe produce wines of many different and exciting styles.  This evening will show us how those produced at Furleigh Estate compare.

The wines will be accompanied by platters of cheese and charcuterie from Dorset and the rest of the world.

27th  May - 5th  June -  English Wine Week.  Sparkling Wine Talk & Tasting -  a technical talk on sparkling wine production, followed by blind tastings of  Furleigh Sparkling vs Champagne.

Thursday 8th June - Colour Workshop with Farrow & Ball colour consultant Annabelle Hunt.  More details to follow.

Tuesday 13th June, 2.30pm - Bridport Food Festival Week. Vineyard tour followed by wine and local food producer tasting. Enjoy tasting Furleigh wines with locally produced artisian charcuterie from Capreolus. Capreolus (based in Rampisham) will also share their knowledge on the art of curing and smoking. Tickets £12.50 per person.

Thursday 29th June, 7pm - Summer Cocktail Masterclass with Lloyd Brown.

September  - Wine Club only.  Cookery demonstration with Lesley Waters at her Abbotts Hill Cookery School. Matching Lesley's recipes with Furleigh Estate wines.

October - Harvest Supper at Furleigh Estate.

October - Wine Club only.  Our annual pick, crush and dine "Get Your Hands Dirty" luncheon

November - Dorset Food Fortnight. Meet the Producers Event -  Furleigh wine pairing with locally produced meats and cheeses.

December - Festive Wine Tasting.
